Operations Manager, Lake City Arts

Role Summary:  The main focus for this job is to keep Lake City Arts operations running smoothly.  This includes overseeing the financials, building maintenance, calendars, event preparation, contract management and clear communication on Art Center activities, manage challenges, and identify improvement opportunities.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:  

Financial Management:  Ensures prompt payment from tenants.  Ensures payment process is working for art, classes, membership, events and concessions.  Logs and reports any cash transactions.  In addition, works in concert with the Treasurer to manage spending in line with stipulated budgets, financial records and tax preparation.  

Building maintenance:  Maintains a clean and inviting space adhering to all proper safety codes.  Schedules cleaning services at appropriate intervals and that the facility is properly stocked during open gallery hours with cleaning, restrooms, and kitchen supplies.  Acts as point person for any required repairs.  

Building and asset rentals:  Posts for new tenant applications when apartment leases are expiring.  Receives all contract requests and reviews them with the President and Treasurer prior to any final rental contract being signed.  Executes the contract.  This includes managing any Lake City Arts assets including, but not limited to, linens, service ware, tables, chairs.  

Open Hours:  Ensures the building is open during hours of operation with proper signage posted and coverage for the open gallery.  Collaborates with board members to ensure volunteers are available for events and gallery open hours.  If they cannot be onsite for all hours or events, this person will assign a responsible party for opening and/or closing the facility with proper guidance.

Documentation:  Documents process and procedures for key operational activities, point of sale tools, and day to day activities to assist with any training or transitions.  In addition, maintains the Lake City Arts Google Docs in conjunction with the Board. 

Web Maintenance:  Maintains and updates website as needed.  Board members will be responsible for posting classes.  

Vendor Management:  Manages any vendor required to maintain operations for Lake City Arts.  

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree (preferred)

Min 2 years of experience in business management

Technical skills including web services, membership platforms, and Google files on a PC platform. Computer proficiency exam will be given to all applicants.

Compensation:

Hourly Rate:  $27/hour

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

Hours:  

Summer (June - Sept):  Estimated 25-30 hours per week

Winter (October - May):  Estimated 10-15 hours per week 

Location:  Lake City Arts Building, 300 Silver Street, Lake City, CO 81235

Physical Requirements:  Can set up and take down tables and chairs (usually with assistance)
