Theatre Volunteers Needed
For
Anchor Baby, April 18, 19, 25, 26:

Please indicate if you would also be available on Monday
and Tuesday nights, June 30 through July 29
for
additional performances.

Lighting Operator -- Follow the Light Plot developed
by the Director.  There will be few light cues; this is a
good play to start on and learn the light board.
Production meeting plus twice weekly rehearsals, but
lighting operator need not be at early rehearsals.
Probably will be needed by April 1.

Costume Designer --Determine the costumes needed
for the six characters in the play.  A wide selection of
costumes is available in the basement of The Black
Crooke theatre; costume designer will start with this
selection.  In the event that the selection owned by
the theatre group does not suffice, check with the
characters to see if they can supply cosumes.  Budget
for production is very small; all purchases of costumes or
costume material must be approved ahead of time by
the Director.

Make-up Artist -- Must be available for dress
rehearsals, normally the week of the production.  This
can be primarily a teaching job; each character should
ultimately be responsible for his/her make-up.  An
inventory of stage make-up should be taken early and
needed items ordered in conjunction with the Theatre
Manager.  Depending on casting, make-up for this show
should be pretty straight-forward.  Meet with the
Director to determine how the ghosts will be
distinguished from other characters.  Two, maybe
three, characters will have old-age make-up; other than
that,  basic stage make-up will be sufficient.  If all
characters have been taught to do their own make-up,
summer involvement is not necessary.

Sound Operator -- No foreseeable sound effects
during the production of this play.  Music to be selected
for pre-play; for "transition time"  (when the houselights
are off, but before the play begins) and intermission.
Must work with lighting operator.

Properties Chairperson -- collects all props needed for
this play.  Make sure the Stage Manager knows that all
props are collected and available.  The Stage Manager is
responsible for backstage arrangement of props.

Set Design and Construction - Must read script
ahead of meeting with Director.  With Director
determines the set for the play.  Since Anchor Baby will
be accomplished with no walls, only furniture, and
decorations, the selection of that furniture and decor
will be up to the Set Design and Construction person.
The Set Design person will work with the Properties
Chairman to determine who will get what. Normally, this
person would be responsible for the set construction
crew, but since there will be no walls, only furniture and
decor, this part of the job isn't pertinent to this play.
