9:00-10:00 - Check in at Lake City Arts Center, 300 Silver St., Lake City, CO 81235

  • Canvases/boards/papers stamped  

  • No more than 5 clean pieces may be stamped, and only one piece may be submitted

10:00-2:00 - PAINT THE TOWN! 

2:00 - 2:30 - All signed, completed pieces must be returned to Lake City Arts

  • Framing is recommended but optional, no late entries will be accepted 

2:30 - 3:00 - Artwork displayed on tabletop easels in the Lake City Arts Moseley Gallery

  • Judging takes place 

  • LCA closed to the public 

3:00 - 5:00 Gallery opens to the public 

  • Public votes for people’s choice award 

  • Silent auction bidding begins 

5:00-6:00 Reception 

  • Light appetizers 

  • Cash bar 

  • Live music 

5:45 - Live auction for Grand Prize piece, the announcement of People’s Choice Award

6:00 - Silent Auction closes, winning bidders take pieces 

6:00 - 6:30 Unsold pieces picked up 


  • Open to any art medium, including but not limited to oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, ink,  pastels, mixed media, fabric, etc. 

  • Artwork is to be executed ‘en Plein Air’ out of doors, from direct observation of the subject *Artwork may be of any subject matter within specified boundaries, completed onsite *Artwork is to be submitted with artist’s name, title of piece, minimum starting bid *Framing is recommended but optional (adds value to piece) 

  • Artists must start with a blank canvas, though a base coat to prep canvas is permitted *Maximum dimensions of framed piece 24”x30” 


Best of Show $200 - sold at the end of the event by live auction

  • Spirit of Lake City - best embodiment of life in Lake City $50 

  • Under 18 Art Kit  

  • People’s Choice Award - will be voted on by the public between 3:30 and 5:30 pm during the  gallery open house $25

In case of inclement weather, artists are encouraged to move to the Pavilion in the Town Park or into the Arts Center
