Learn the basics or perfect your moves with the Magdalene Dance Troupe. Danse Orientale, Middle Eastern Dance, Raks Sharqi, or Danse du Ventre, otherwise known as Belly Dancing, has a fascinating history. This class is open to beginner, intermediate, and advanced dancers. Belly dancing is good exercise and a lot of fun. People of all shapes, sizes, and ages are welcome. Beginner and advanced students are welcome to join these fun classes. With its roots in Appalachia, and influenced by many of the folk dances of American immigrants, clogging is a truly American style of dance. An interesting and well-written history of clogging can be found at the Doubletoe Times. “It’s a lot of fun and it’s really good exercise,” says instructor Linny Ramundo.
